CAN MY MAN TO MAN RELATIONSHIP DRAW ME CLOSER TO GOD?

Well let us examine what John, who was one of Jesus' closest disciples says in his first Epistle (an open letter to all believers) in the 4th chapter verses 18 to 21:

"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love." verse 18, so we should not be afraid to love or show love.

In verse 19 John mentions how "We love Him because He first loved us" the "He" is Jesus but in verse 20 John goes on to say that it is not possible for a man to love God who he has NOT seen if he does not love his brother who he HAS seen "and this commandment we have from Him that he who loves God must love his brother also" verse 21 the "Him" mentioned is of course Jesus, note also the word "commandment", so we are obliged to do this.

Sorry guys, you have no choice you must love each other as MEN, Jesus expects, and it will as an experience bring you closer to Him so love your brother because as John says in verse 18 "There is no fear in love..."
