I couldn't agree with you more Bill. The only thing going in my rectum is a finger attached to my doctor during my annual physical.

For many men, the topic of prostate cancer is one not often thought of or talked about. It's a fact; the majority of men over 80 years of age will develop prostate cancer. Many men over the age of 40 may suffer from BPH, Benign Prostate Hyperplasia or more simply stated an enlarged prostate.

But the numbers assigned to frequency sorta made me laugh. I mean, it would be difficult to find a 20 y/o guy who masturbated LESS than 5 times a week !!

Right guys

One of the great problems in dealing with HIV and other sexually transmitted ills we have now in America in particular is that the only people who have high visibility and are opposed to the gay male anal promiscuity mainstream is the abstinence crowd.

In their view, all sex must be procreative.

Otherwise, they say, you have to abstain.

Yes, we support fidelity, Phallic Fidelity, because promiscuity dilutes and weakens the bond between men and always leads to disappointment.

And because so much of gay male life in particular is consumed by a joyless hunting for sexual scalps.

But that doesn't mean we don't like sex.

I think it is rather insensitive of you to belittle guys who have not practised masturbation less than five times a week in their 20s and beyond! Whilst for many guys this would be considered to be 'normal' behavior, many others would find this statement offensive. In my case, I fought against my gay orientation right up until my 51st birthday not knowing that my orientation was genetic and set at birth, all because I did not want to be 'different' and just wanted to be like everyone else, i.e. str8! And, because I did not want to be different I masturbated only when the 'pressure of the male hormones' became too great to bear. And, even then I made it quick as I felt ashamed of my actions in view of my strict Catholic upbringing that any sexual activity out of wedlock was wrong!

So, please do not ridicule us 'reluctant wankers'. You cannot begin to understand what guys like me have gone thru, both in our family upbringing, religious brainwashing and the resultant 'deprivation of pleasure'.

At the ripe 'old' age of 52 I contracted prostate cancer. Whilst it was in its very early stages it was a very aggressive one. It was only thru its early detection that I am still here today keying this post. I was told that another eight months would have seen the cancer spread, and that would have meant curtains! Once any cancer has started to spread it is only a matter of time, usually.

So, whilst it seems OK to joke about one's masturbation prowess it, at the same time, appears scornful of others who have not participated in this sort of activity. In the light of what I have written please do not 'rubbish' guys who have not met the 'standard masturbation quota'. Many guys, myself included, have had to deal with complex issues surrounding their sexuality and it is offensive and insensitive to suggest that it is all cut and dried when it comes to male behavior. It isn't, and to suggest otherwise is the cruellest form of contempt there is!

The message we have from all this is that frot is 100% safe and provides fantastic enjoyment between two males without requiring one to assume the feminine role! The absence of any health risk is also a major consideration!

There is no greater enjoyment between men than male-to-male frot contact. Let's not belittle those who, for one reason or another, have been denied such pleasure. Instead, we should be advocating such contact as the ultimate expression of male masculinity!

Thank you for your post.

I'm sorry you had to deal with cancer, but glad you've come through it.

I don't think though that Don and Dave, who have been among the staunchest advocates of Frot for more than four years, meant to belittle guys who don't masturbate.

Rather, I think all they're saying is that it's common for guys to masturbate, and healthy as well.

It's unfortunate that your upbringing gave you the opposite message.

That's an ongoing problem with the abstinence folks, who often claim to be religiously inspired.

They're correct that promiscuity spreads STDs; but often lurking behind that message is an anti-sex and anti-homosex agenda which is dangerous and destructive in its own right.

What we seek is a balance between unbridled promiscuity and anything goes sex -- which has been a disaster; and needlessly prohibitive and restrictive pseudo-religious strictures which deny the realities of male sexuality.

Including that men have very strong sex drives, and that men routinely have sex with other men.

Frot is sometimes belittled as a form of mutual masturbation.

But mutual masturbation is an age-old exuberantly male sexual activity which is very safe and very hot.

No one gets pregnant, it's affirming, it's joyful, and for those guys who figure out they can put their cocks together and jerk, rub, and grind to orgasm, it's incredibly bonding.

Hey Skipper - We are all products of our upbringing, which is sometimes good and supportive and many times negative and harmful. I'm terribly sorry about your cancer. That SUCKS!!

However, the point that we have skipped over, is the fact that you have proven the point about masturbation (or lack of) being linked to prostate cancer. Of course, there are other factors involved like family history and diet. You may be predisposed to prostate cancer. But not masturbating often for most of your life.... added a risk factor to the picture for you.

Kinda proves the whole post. Once again, I'm glad you're healthy and with us here. Take care.
