Once again we hear that "low viral load" -- low levels of virus in the blood -- does not necessarily mean that the infected person is not highly infectious.

I say "once again."

In the message titled blindsided, which I posted on September 8 2006, I talked about how often in the past we've been misled by the conventional MEDICAL wisdom on HIV / AIDS.

Misled first about the possibility of there even being a fatal sexually transmitted disease.

Misled about the actual level of risk in any one "sexual" encounter.

Misled about the likelihood of a cure.

Then, on September 28, 2006 -- just 20 days later -- I posted about a new finding that Viral Blood Levels Don't Indicate Course of HIV Infection.

In that case, we'd been told for years that HAART reduced the level of virus in the blood, and that in turn meant that people were unlikely to progress to frank AIDS.

But, according to HealthDay,

[R]esearchers found that "the viral load for the individual has very little predictive value in terms of how rapidly a person is going to progress to AIDS."

In fact, [a researcher] added, "In our study, we had about 10 percent of patients with low viral loads that had extra rapid disease progression, so people should know that having a low load doesn't mean you're OK."

As I pointed out back in September, that's an important finding.

Not just for people who are infected, but for those who aren't infected.

Because it suggests that men on HAART can remain highly infectious -- even with low viral load.

And, sure enough, today we learn that HIV hides out in the testicles, that most HAART medications can't reach it there, and that it then appears in semen:

This testis culture, which retained the same tissue architecture as in vivo tissue and continued to secrete testosterone, was able to support infection by HIV-1. Virus produced from the testis culture was fully active as collected virus was able to infect permissive cells in culture.

That's great, isn't it?

Even while infected with HIV, the testes continue to produce testosterone, which makes the guy horny.

The HIV goes directly into his semen, and when he cums in your ass, directly into your blood.

Efficient.

Very efficient.

Gay "males into anal" infected with HIV are not just virus-producing machines, but virus-spreading machines.

The virus can be found in many places in the body, but the reason anal is so deadly is that the virus is present in high numbers in both rectal secretions and semen.

So -- for the virus, anal is win-win.

If the guy bottoms -- he spreads the virus.

And if he tops -- he spreads the virus.

Lose-lose for Humanity.

Win-win for HIV.

Now, you need to be clear that there's a widespread perception that HAART is so effective at lowering HIV levels in the blood, that people on HAART are no longer infectious.

Indeed, there are guys on HAART who will tell you that they don't have HIV, and halfway believe it, because they think HAART has reduced the presence of virus in their body to an amount that's negligible.

NOT SO.

But that scenario just played out in Kansas -- a red state if ever there was one -- in which a man exposed three women to HIV, justifying what he was doing by saying he was on HAART:

LAWRENCE, Kan. -- An HIV-positive man accused of knowingly exposing three women to the virus has been sentenced to nearly three years in prison.

Robert Richardson II, 30, apologized at his sentencing Wednesday, but he argued that while his behavior was unethical, it wasn't criminal.

Richardson was found guilty last month of four counts of HIV exposure involving three women, and he was found not guilty of exposing a fourth woman.

Jurors said they were appalled by how he deceived the women by telling them his health problems were from a heart condition. Richardson said he didn't lie, and that he did have a "HAART" condition -- short for Highly Active Anti-Retroviral Therapy, the name he used for his HIV-treatment drug regimen.

Defense attorneys said Richardson had been taking drugs to lower the amount of the virus in his blood and that he thought it was physically impossible for the women to get the virus.

Whether Mr Richardson was telling the truth about what he thought, fact is that there is a widespread perception that HAART renders you non-infectious.

But it's NOT TRUE.

For those of you who are still doing anal -- WAKE UP.

There's no safe way to do it -- and guys will lie to you about their antibody status -- or they'll be ignorant of it -- or they'll think it doesn't matter.

But it does.

Now, I said that HIV + anal = lose-lose for Humanity.

Humanity could however turn this one around.

Particularly men who have sex with men.

NO ANAL, NO AIDS.

And -- replace anal with FROT and you've got a win-win not just for MSM -- but for the human race.

Pure MAN2MAN pleasure -- and no disease.

The mutually PHALLIC exaltation of MANHOOD -- and no disease.

The holy sacrament of PHALLIC BONDING -- and no disease.

Add FIDELITY to the mix and the restoration of WARRIOR values -- and you're home.

And that's what you guys -- each and every one of you -- should be doing.

Working towards a restoration of the Warrior Ethos -- and a world in which testicular HIV is just a footnote in history.

Rather than the grim reality it is today.

Guys -- your balls should not harbor a terrible disease.

Like your phallus, your balls should be a source of life and joy.

Not death and dismay.

The erect penis "emits semen, the source of life."

Your semen should be a source not of death, but of life.

Your Phallus should be a source not of mortality, but of VITALITY.

Life and joy, not death and dismay.

Yet there are tens of millions of men in the world today whose testicles harbor HIV.

Who's responsible?

The analists.
